What we collect
We collect the details you give us when you create an account, such as your name and email address, or the basic profile details Google shares if you sign in with Google. We collect the text you paste or upload and the results we create from it. We keep records of your plan and payments, and any messages you send us. We also collect basic information about how you use the site, such as the pages you visit, the device and browser you use, and your IP address. Card details are entered on our payment provider’s secure page and are never seen or stored by us.
How we use it
We use your information to provide HumanWords: to check and rewrite your text, save your drafts, run your account and billing, and help you when you contact us. We also use it to keep the service secure and working, to understand how it is used so we can improve it, and to measure how well our advertising works.
Your writing
Your text is used only to give you the results you ask for. We never sell it or use it for advertising. Drafts you save stay in your account until you delete them. If you try a free preview without an account, we keep your text for up to 48 hours so it is ready if you sign up, then delete it. Please do not submit sensitive personal information you do not want processed.
Who we share it with
We share information with trusted service providers that help us run HumanWords, such as hosting, text processing, email and payment providers, and only as much as they need to do that work. Google Analytics receives page paths and selected product events, plus a pseudonymous browser identifier and basic device and browser details. Checkout events may include the plan and purchase value and currency. We do not send draft text, document titles, email addresses, HumanWords account IDs or advertising click IDs to Google Analytics. Automatic Enhanced Measurement is off. Advertising partners such as TikTok and Meta receive limited information to help us measure our ads: the pages you visit, actions like signing up or buying, your IP address and browser details, and your email address in a scrambled form. We never share your writing with them. We may also share information when the law requires it.
Product emails
We use Loops to manage product emails and their delivery, open and click reports. We share your verified email, account identifier, signup date, plan and whether you have completed key actions, such as trying Humanize or starting checkout. We do not share your writing, document titles or AI scores with Loops. You can unsubscribe from product emails using the link in their footer. Account verification and password reset emails are handled separately.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to make the site work. Google Analytics uses a first-party browser identifier to measure public page views and selected product events. On some pages, we and our advertising partners also use cookies to understand how people find HumanWords. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but you will need cookies to stay signed in.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information and saved drafts until you delete them or close your account. Deleted information may remain in encrypted backups for up to seven days. We keep some records, such as payment records, for longer when the law requires it.
Where it is stored
Some of our service providers may store or process information outside your country. When they do, we use appropriate safeguards to protect it.
Keeping it safe
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, and only you can open your documents. No online service can promise perfect security.
Your choices
You can download your drafts, delete documents and close your account at any time. To access, correct or delete your information, or ask any privacy question, email hello@humanwords.app.
